A graduate of Rutherford High School and Gulf Coast Community College, Carl received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Leisure Services and Studies from The Florida State University in Tallahassee. He is a registered Masters swimmer, competing in open water events, pool competitions and an occasional triathlon. He has been a Masters swim instructor at Gulf Coast Community College since 1997. A certified ASCA swim coach with the Panama City Swim Team since 1998. Certified by the Aquatic Exercise Association as an Aquatic Fitness Instructor since 1993 and Aquatic Personal Trainer since 2000. Certified by the American Red Cross as a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor since 1991. Certified PADI Divemaster and NASE Instructor with 4 specialties. Carl became Coordinator of Aquatics in 2002.

Received Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Services Administration, from Florida State University. Began her career in aquatics as the first aquatic director at the Boys and Girls Clubs in Bay County. Currently certified as Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Challenge Course Facilitator, Certified Pool Operator, CPR/ First Aid Instructor.
